There are five main categories that encompass up to 30 awards, three of which are open to public nominations. These awards extol individuals and organisations that have made exemplary achievements in the tourism industry.

The Special Recognition award recognises exceptional individuals or organisations who have made key contributions to Singapore’s tourism landscape. These individuals or organisations are recognised primarily by the creativity of their ideas, best practices, and significance of their contributions to the tourism sector.
Closed to public, corporate, or self-nominations.
Businesses which have shown exemplary commitment to retain jobs and capabilities, while ensuring staff welfare is protected during challenging times.
• Businesses must have complied with all SMM rules and regulations, where applicable.
• Developed and implemented impactful policies including retaining and retraining employees to keep them relevant and adaptable. Other initiatives to look after employee welfare at the workplace and beyond.
Businesses and individuals who have displayed exceptional care towards the community, even as their industries and jobs were disrupted.
• Businesses must have complied with all SMM rules and regulations, where applicable.
• Displayed care for others beyond their own organisation or themselves (e.g. via donations, charitable/voluntary acts), inspired others in society and worked in close collaboration with a diverse range of stakeholders.
• Displayed selflessness to help others in society during these tough times, showed leadership and initiative to step up and lead positive change. Businesses will also be evaluated on the scale and longevity of their efforts.
Businesses which are industry leaders in sustainability that inspire others to adopt sustainable practices, in the face of increasing supply chain pressures and climate-related risks.
Businesses must have complied with all SMM rules and regulations, where applicable.
Environment
• Adopted practices in environmental sustainability to lower / offset operating carbon footprint and/or contributes to the circular economy. E.g. pivoted to lower carbon-footprint products and services, implemented waste management solutions etc.
• Business proactively implements and markets environmental sustainability related initiatives.
Economy
• Adopted more resource efficient operations, and/or established resilient supply chains.
Social
• Displayed leadership to nurture a sustainable workforce e.g. via diversity & inclusion related initiative and policies.
• Developed sustainability related knowledge and aptitude in the workforce.
The Lifetime Achievement For Outstanding Contribution To Tourism award honours an individual whose contributions have had a significant impact on the development of tourism in Singapore. Their vision, dedication and commitment set them apart while earning the respect of all within the industry and Singapore.

Acknowledges outstanding individuals who have applied their business acumen, leadership, creativity and innovative talents to assist in the growth and development of Singapore’s tourism industry.

The Breakthrough Contribution To Tourism award recognises exceptional individuals and/or organisations that have demonstrated a significant impact in the development and growth of Singapore’s tourism sector through various products and services. These offerings contribute to visitor arrivals and tourism receipts, adding value by spreading awareness and reinforcing Singapore’s image as a must-visit travel destination.
